Simple Newborn & Editing

Erin Elizabeth

In this demonstration, Erin will show you how to safely pose, soothe, calm, and keep newborn subjects happy and sleepy in both prop and bean bag setups. In addition to discussing how to set up a newborn session using natural light, Erin will dive into lenses, equipment, exposure, and white balance so that you know how to get that perfect SOOC image. Erin will also discuss and demonstrate how to work with unsettled or awake newborns and still achieve a beautiful and variety-filled gallery for your clients. Time allowing, Erin will focus on newborn post-production and how to create her signature clean edits using Creative Cloud.

Props props props, we will use only props for this class! Laying in a prop on the back, siting in a box/bucket with chin forward and laying on a prop on the side we will cover all! On top of that we will go through how to stuff your prop for easier posing also how to safely pose a baby in a prop and balance them. Last, but not least, how to get the best angles for those shots!

Adding composites to your newborn workflow can give so much variation to a gallery that would otherwise be impossible ! I will be showing how to pose, light and photograph baby safely and cosy on the beanbag. Then moving to photoshop to go through the tools I use to select, size , add shadow and light . with all of these steps combined we can create anything we can dream up of ! and something parents will love ! With these techniques anything can be a prop ! whether  it is tiny or huge , indoors or out , the possibilities are endless and so so much fun too 🙂
