She resides in a small rural town in northern British Columbia, Canada. She’s a mama to 4 children and a wife of 19 years and manages to balance family, traveling while working full time. How long have you been in business?
12 years
Why did you start?
My girlfriend wanted maternity pictures so we took them in my living room with natural light and a point/shoot camera. It was so much fun and I foresaw this becoming a business.
Tell us about your family? How many kids? Who watches them while you travel?
I have 4 children, my oldest is 18 years old and has severe special needs. When I travel I either hire a sitter or my husband is home at night from his work.
Favorite part about your job?
Meeting people!
Favorite marketing tip? what did you do to get your name out there?
Facebook years ago was a great marketing tool. Word of mouth in my area also helped marketing.
Favorite baby supply item?
My beanbag is my favorite baby item.
Favorite prop?
Favorite prop is Lemondrop Backdrops.
What does your future look like?
Future is determined only by your own limitations. I hope to continue photographing bellies!
What is your message to your children about life and running a business?
Do what makes you happy, there is nothing worse that having a job that you dread doing or going to.
What is something you wish you knew when starting out?
The money and dedication it can take to run a successful business.
